Our vision
The vision of Make A Difference is to help empower orphaned children and youth worldwide. We do this by providing programs and services that focus on education, health, social development and income generating activities at orphanages and community schools.
- We believe that by investing in children through education, health, job skill training and income generating activities we can break the cycle of poverty and sickness that is present in the world today creating a better tomorrow.
- We believe in operating an organization that is fiscally responsible and continually shows where money is donated.
STRUCTURE
Make A Difference is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our founder, Theresa Grant has been working in Africa since 2005 at orphanages and community schools. She works with local directors in Tanzania, Zambia and India to make sure orphan children get the chance to go to school, learn about HIV/AIDS prevention, get job skill training and learn about income generators to help them success in life.
MAD has a board of directors based in Ketchum, Idaho (USA). Theresa has had close to 50 volunteers from around the world help her with programs in Africa that help children.
The administrative costs for Make A Difference are only 10%. Our focus is on children not offices. These costs are minimal and are used for fundraising for the children's educations and to help our founder with her expenses while working in Africa.
FUTURE PLANS
Make A Difference has doubled its growth over the last year. Our programs and services have been extremely well received by the children we help, our volunteers and donors. One of our future goals is to build a Make A Difference School with our partners in Tanzania near Mount Kilimanjaro. We have the land, now we just need the material and the volunteers to build!
