Where We Help
Himo and Marangu, Tanzania

An orphanage with 22 children in Himo, Tanzania near the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Each child has come
from a different village in the surrounding areas. The children were selected to go to the orphanage by
the village chief. The chief chose them because they were the "most vulnerable" from all others and
only one child was allowed to be taken from each village. Marangu is where our volunteer guest house
is which sleeps six people.

ndola, Zambia

In Northern Zambia near the Congo border we help one community school with 300 children, one
orphanage with 15 children, another orphanage with 120 children and the local YMCA, which helps
youth. This area is called the "Copper Belt".  Here mining has been a way of life exploiting the
traditional people. AIDS and health issues are a major concern.

mysore, india

Our newest area of outreach is in Mysore, India just 2 hours away from Bangalore. Make A Difference
is helping rebuild and give financial support to a school for at risk children. We have a large building that
classes are held in for children, but many of the rooms need repair. The building was built in 1935. Classes
are Pre-Primary and Primary and Pre-School to 4th Grade. There are 40 students throughout the day at any
one given time with 2 teachers and 1 assistant. Volunteers are needed to repair 3 vacant rooms in the
building so that more students can attend school as well as teach.
